Beat the Heat or Swamp Quest? Compare coin payouts, winning streaks, and booster spending to see which Gardenscapes event gives you more for your effort.
Both events reward winning streaks with coins. But which one requires fewer levels and pays more? And how much do you actually keep if you spend coins to finish?
The seven-level Swamp Quest pays more per required win than the 28-level version of Beat the Heat. Even an 835-coin Swamp Quest payout offers a better return per level than Beat the Heat’s maximum reward of 1,550 coins.
How Beat the Heat Works
Beat the Heat has three stages. In the version compared here, you need 7 consecutive wins in the first stage, 9 in the second, and 12 in the third. That adds up to 28 wins.
You do not have to win all 28 levels without a single loss. Losing resets only your current stage. You keep your completed stages and any coins you have already collected.
Other versions have different requirements, including a five-level first stage. The calculations below apply to the 28-level version.
How Many Coins Does Beat the Heat Give You?
After each stage, you receive keys and choose which chests to open. Some contain coins. Others are empty.
| Stage | Chests | Keys | Maximum Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 3 | 200 coins |
| 2 | 6 | 4 | 450 coins |
| 3 | 7 | 5 | 900 coins |
| Total | 18 | 12 | Up to 1,550 coins |
Finishing all three stages does not guarantee 1,550 coins. Your final payout depends on the chests you open. Every empty chest uses up a key without giving you a reward.
In our recorded Gardenscapes Strategy playthrough, we collected 170 coins from the first stage, 450 from the second, and 650 from the third: 1,270 coins in total. A full completion can also pay just 800 coins.
How Many Coins Does Swamp Quest Give You?
The version compared here requires 7 consecutive wins. Losing a level ends your attempt, and you can try again after 30 minutes.
Payouts include 835 and 910 coins, with larger rewards reaching 10,000 coins. Those two lower amounts do not represent the event’s full reward range.
The Numbers Side by Side
The table shows how many coins each result pays per required win. It counts only event rewards, assumes no losses, and does not subtract any spending.
| Event | Reward | Required Wins | Coins per Win |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swamp Quest | 835 | 7 | 119.3 |
| Swamp Quest | 910 | 7 | 130 |
| Swamp Quest — maximum prize | 10,000 | 7 | 1,428.6 |
| Beat the Heat — maximum prize | 1,550 | 28 | 55.4 |
| Beat the Heat — our playthrough | 1,270 | 28 | 45.4 |
| Beat the Heat — an 800-coin finish | 800 | 28 | 28.6 |
Beat the Heat requires four times as many wins, yet its maximum reward is less than twice an 835-coin payout from Swamp Quest. A higher Swamp Quest payout widens that gap even further.
More Levels Mean More Chances to Need Help
Across 28 levels, you have more chances to hit a difficult board that pushes you to use boosters, tools, or extra moves. If you lose and restart a stage, you will need even more attempts.
Swamp Quest takes fewer wins to finish, but one loss before your seventh win ends the attempt. Beat the Heat lets you retry your current stage without repeating the ones you have already finished.
How Much Do You Keep After Spending?
A reward leaves you ahead only if it pays more than you spent specifically to earn it. If you buy one 900-coin continuation just to finish the event:
- A 910-coin reward leaves you with a 10-coin profit.
- An 835-coin reward leaves you 65 coins down.
- An 800-coin reward leaves you 100 coins down.
Even Beat the Heat’s maximum of 1,550 coins cannot cover two 900-coin continuations. You would spend 1,800 coins and get back, at best, 1,550.
Count the boosters and tools you use, too. You may already have them saved up, but every item spent chasing this reward is one less available for your next difficult level.
Knowing when to stop spending matters in both events. Keeping a streak alive can quickly cost more than the reward you are trying to collect.
Which Event Offers Better Value?
In this comparison, Swamp Quest offers a better return per required win. It takes 7 levels instead of 28, and its rewards can reach 10,000 coins.
Beat the Heat’s advantage is that you keep the rewards from completed stages, even if you lose later. But empty chests and the 1,550-coin limit make it less rewarding for the number of levels required.
Whichever event you play, check what you have left afterward. Spending more in coins and boosters than the reward is worth turns a successful finish into an expensive one.
The next chest might be empty. No reason your coin stash should be.
