Gardenscapes Levels 20.396–20.445 brought a brutally uncooperative run with 6 Super Hard, 9 Hard and 5 One Shot levels, stubborn boards and heavy resource use.

The 50 new Gardenscapes levels, from Level 20.396 through Level 20.445, made for one of those runs where patience matters more than speed. The best way to describe this batch is simple: A Brutally Uncooperative Run. Not because a brand-new element suddenly changed the game, but because far too many boards simply refused to cooperate. Several Normal levels played much harder than their official difficulty suggested, and getting through all 50 required plenty of boosters, tools, and extra moves.

Compared with last week's batch of levels, this run felt very different. The issue was not that we kept reaching the final move with one objective left. Instead, several boards showed pretty early that they were not going to open up without a fight.

First Things First: Stay Calm

This is probably the most important advice for Levels 20.396–20.445. Do not let frustration take over, and do not rush to finish the entire run. Some of these levels can get under your skin quickly. One bad move can lead to an unnecessary tool, then another, and before you know it, you are spending coins on extra moves.

Some of these boards are almost guaranteed to test your patience. Useful matches did not always show up when we needed them, cascades were often hard to build, and there were levels where too many moves were spent just trying to create enough room to actually play the board.

On a run like this, taking a few extra seconds to study the board before making your next move can be worth more than burning another tool.

❗ Important

6 Super Hard, 9 Hard, and 5 One Shot Levels

The official difficulty spread was already demanding. Across the 50 new levels, we had 6 Super Hard, 9 Hard, and 5 One Shot levels.

Hard and Super Hard levels alone accounted for 15 of the 50 stages. But the real difficulty went well beyond the levels carrying those labels.

Several Normal levels played like genuinely hard stages. That may have been the most frustrating part of the entire run. You enter a regular level expecting something manageable, only to find yourself on a board that eats through moves and refuses to open up.

Not a Single Level Came Down to the Final Move

One interesting detail from this run is that not one of the 50 levels was completed on the final move.

That does not mean the levels were easier. If anything, it points to a different kind of difficulty. On many attempts, the board just was not giving us much to work with. Instead of everything coming down to one dramatic final move, the trouble often started much earlier.

There were attempts where it made more sense to accept that the board was going nowhere rather than keep throwing resources at a bad setup and trying to rescue it at any cost.

Plenty of Boosters and Tools, Plus About 9,000 Coins

This was an expensive run. Getting through all 50 levels required plenty of boosters and tools, and roughly 9,000 coins were spent on extra moves needed to finish some of the levels.

And that happened with quite a bit of help from the game. We played with a full Magic Hat, while rewards from Electric Showdown, Swamp Quest, and Gnome Treasure also helped along the way. Without those extra rewards, this run could have been even more costly.

Which Elements Appeared in Levels 20.396–20.445?

There was no major wave of brand-new mechanics this time. Most of the levels relied on familiar elements, but the way those elements were combined was more than enough to create tight, difficult boards.

Among the elements that appeared were Bottle, Colored Light Bulbs, Magic Hat, Fringe, Awning, Snail, Garden Shelf, Crystal, and Bags of Food, along with the game's familiar elements.

One of the more recent elements to show up was the Conveyor, although it was not the main reason this run was so demanding.

That is worth pointing out because Gardenscapes does not need a brand-new mechanic to make a level difficult. Familiar elements, when packed into the right board layout, can turn even a Normal level into something much tougher than expected.

Do Not Try to Rescue Every Bad Board

This run rewards patience and smart resource management. When a board starts badly and still has not opened up after several moves, frustration can push you into using one tool, then another, and eventually spending coins on extra moves.

That does not mean giving up every time a level gets difficult. It means knowing the difference between a tough board that is slowly coming together and one that just is not opening up.

The Shooting Range also appeared during this run and was one of the few more recent elements mixed in with the older mechanics.

Conclusion: A Brutally Uncooperative Run

Levels 20.396–20.445 were, without question, a brutally uncooperative run. Six Super Hard levels, nine Hard levels, five One Shot levels, unexpectedly difficult Normal stages, stubborn boards, and a heavy need for boosters, tools, and extra moves made this one of the tougher batches we have played.

What stands out most is that the difficulty was not driven by a long list of new elements. Most of the mechanics were already familiar. What made the difference was how they were combined and how stubbornly some of the boards refused to open up.

The best advice for this run is simple: stay calm. If a level starts getting under your skin, do not let frustration decide when you use tools or spend coins. During a Brutally Uncooperative Run, the biggest loss may not come from the level itself, but from trying to force your way through it at any cost.
