How to transfer Gardenscapes progress from Facebook using the Player ID, QR code, Facebook Login, and Playrix’s official migration process.
How to Transfer Gardenscapes Progress From Facebook
The Facebook version of Gardenscapes is being discontinued, but the game itself is not shutting down and progress does not have to disappear with it. Playrix has provided a specific migration process for moving progress from the old Facebook version to a supported Gardenscapes installation.
The reason for the change is straightforward: Meta is retiring Facebook Web Games, the old platform that allowed games to run directly inside Facebook.com. The platform is scheduled to shut down on September 30, 2026. Because the Facebook version of Gardenscapes depends on that platform, Playrix is moving affected accounts to supported versions of the game, while Gardenscapes itself is not shutting down.
In plain English: Facebook Web Games is ending. Gardenscapes is not. Playrix is providing the transfer process so Facebook-version progress can continue on another supported device.
What Exactly Is Facebook Changing?
Meta is retiring its traditional Facebook Web Games platform, formerly known as Canvas. This is a platform-wide change and is not a decision aimed specifically at Gardenscapes or Playrix.
Facebook Web Games is the system that allowed a game to run directly inside Facebook.com through a web browser. Once that platform is retired, games that depended on it can no longer continue there in the same way.
That is why the Facebook-hosted version of Gardenscapes is being discontinued.
This does not mean Facebook is ending every connection with Playrix. Facebook Login is a separate service, and Playrix still lists Facebook as one of the account options that can be used to save or synchronize progress in supported versions of Gardenscapes.
Why Are August 31 and September 30 Both Mentioned?
There are two dates because Meta and Playrix are responsible for different parts of the transition.
- August 31, 2026: Playrix says the Facebook version of Gardenscapes is no longer supported starting on this date.
- September 30, 2026: Meta is retiring the wider Facebook Web Games platform.
These are not two separate shutdowns that require two different transfers. They are part of the same transition. Meta is closing the web gaming platform, while Playrix is handling what happens to Gardenscapes accounts that used that platform.
For someone who played Gardenscapes directly through Facebook, there is only one practical goal: move the Facebook-version progress to a supported Gardenscapes installation.
Before You Start: Save Your Facebook Player ID
Before doing anything else, open the Facebook version of Gardenscapes and save your Facebook Player ID.
Playrix recommends taking a screenshot of the ID or copying it somewhere safe. Customer Support may need this number if the automatic migration does not work.
Do not assume you will always be able to return to the Facebook version later and retrieve the number. Save it before completing the migration.
Step 1: Open the Facebook Version of Gardenscapes
According to Playrix's migration instructions, the Facebook version should display two important pieces of information:
- Your Facebook Player ID.
- A QR code that can be used to continue the transfer on another device.
Take a screenshot of the Player ID before scanning the QR code.
Step 2: Scan the QR Code
Use the device where you want to continue playing Gardenscapes to scan the QR code displayed by the Facebook version.
The QR code directs a compatible mobile device to the appropriate app store so Gardenscapes can be downloaded and installed.
Playrix says the QR code can direct users to the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on the device. Gardenscapes is also available through Amazon Appstore, Huawei AppGallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, One Store, the Mac App Store, and the Microsoft Store.
The QR code is convenient, but it is not the only way to install the game. Gardenscapes can also be downloaded manually from a supported store.
Step 3: Install Gardenscapes on the New Device
Download and install Gardenscapes on the device where you want the Facebook progress to continue.
A fresh installation may initially look like a new game. That does not mean the Facebook progress has been lost. The old progress is loaded later in the migration process after the correct Facebook account is connected.
Step 4: Sign In With the Same Facebook Account
After Gardenscapes is installed, connect the game using the same Facebook account that was used with the old Facebook version.
This step matters because the migration process needs to identify the Facebook account associated with the old progress.
Before signing in, make sure the correct Facebook account is active on the device. Using a different Facebook account may prevent the old progress from being detected.
Step 5: Download the Facebook Progress
After signing in with the correct Facebook account, Playrix says a pop-up should appear offering to load the progress from the Facebook version.
Tap Download.
The game will then ask you to confirm the transfer. Type:
CONFIRM
and tap OK.
The Facebook progress should then be loaded into the supported Gardenscapes installation.
Keep the Facebook Player ID Until the Transfer Is Finished
Do not delete the screenshot of the Facebook Player ID immediately after starting the transfer.
Keep it until you have confirmed that the correct garden, level, coins, boosters, and other progress have appeared in the new installation.
The ID may be needed by Playrix Support if something goes wrong, but there is no reason to publish it online. Keeping your Player ID private while saving a personal copy gives you the information needed for account recovery without sharing it unnecessarily.
Why Is a Special Migration Process Necessary?
This is an important distinction because Playrix's normal synchronization rules can otherwise look contradictory.
Under the regular Gardenscapes synchronization system, progress can be synchronized between iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS using supported Facebook, Google, or Apple account connections.
However, Playrix states that progress from the old Facebook platform version cannot be transferred through that normal cross-platform synchronization system.
The shutdown migration is therefore a special process created for Facebook-version progress. It uses the Facebook Player ID, QR code, the same Facebook account, and the Download and CONFIRM prompts described by Playrix.
So there is no need to choose between two different transfer methods. If the progress comes from the old Facebook-hosted version of Gardenscapes, follow the Facebook migration process.
What If Gardenscapes Is Already Installed on Your Phone?
This situation requires extra care.
If Gardenscapes is already installed on a device and that installation contains a different account you want to keep, Playrix recommends transferring the Facebook progress to another device.
Playrix warns against keeping multiple Gardenscapes accounts on one device because changing accounts can put existing progress at risk.
Do not overwrite an existing account simply to test whether the Facebook migration works.
Can the Facebook Progress Be Moved to Windows or Mac?
Yes. Playrix says Gardenscapes can also be installed manually on supported Windows and macOS systems and that Facebook progress can be transferred using the same migration procedure.
Windows users can install Gardenscapes through the Microsoft Store, while Mac users can use Apple's App Store.
The key requirement remains the same: use the Facebook account associated with the old Facebook version and follow the migration prompt when the progress is detected.
What If the QR Code Does Not Work?
If the QR code does not work, install Gardenscapes manually from a supported app store.
The QR code mainly provides a convenient route to the correct download. It is not the actual game progress itself.
After installing the game manually, sign in with the same Facebook account and continue with the migration process.
What If Facebook Login Says “Feature Unavailable”?
A Facebook Login error may appear during this transition with wording similar to:
“Feature Unavailable: Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app, since we are updating additional details for this app. Please try again later.”
This message is about Facebook Login availability. It is not another shutdown and it does not mean Gardenscapes progress has been deleted.
It should also not be confused with the September 30 Facebook Web Games shutdown. The Web Games change affects where the Facebook-hosted game can run, while this message concerns the login connection being temporarily unavailable.
If the error appears, keep the Facebook Player ID and account screenshots, do not delete anything, and try the login again later. If the problem continues and prevents the migration, contact Playrix Support.
What If the Progress Does Not Appear?
If the Download prompt does not appear, the wrong progress is offered, Facebook Login continues to fail, or the migration does not complete correctly, Playrix instructs users to contact Customer Support from the Gardenscapes app on the new device.
Provide the Facebook Player ID saved from the old version. You can contact Gardenscapes Support through the game's Help and Support section and explain that the progress came from the discontinued Facebook version.
Keep screenshots showing the old account, level, and other important details until the correct progress has been restored.
Facebook Gardenscapes Transfer Checklist
- Open the old Facebook version of Gardenscapes.
- Save a screenshot of the Facebook Player ID.
- Scan the QR code with the device you want to use.
- Install Gardenscapes from a supported store.
- Sign in with the same Facebook account used with the Facebook version.
- Tap Download when the Facebook progress is offered.
- Type CONFIRM and tap OK.
- Check that the correct garden and progress have loaded.
- Keep the Facebook Player ID until the migration is fully complete.
- If the transfer fails, contact Playrix Support and provide the Facebook Player ID.
The Bottom Line
The situation is much simpler when the roles of Facebook and Playrix are separated clearly.
Meta is retiring Facebook Web Games on September 30, 2026. Because Gardenscapes had a version running through that platform, Playrix is discontinuing that Facebook-hosted version and providing a migration route for its progress.
This does not mean Gardenscapes is shutting down, and it does not mean every connection between Facebook and Playrix is being terminated. Facebook Login remains a separate account service used by supported Gardenscapes versions.
For anyone whose Gardenscapes progress is still on the old Facebook version, the action is clear: save the Facebook Player ID, move the game to a supported installation, sign in with the same Facebook account, and complete the Download and CONFIRM process.
If the automatic migration does not work, the saved Facebook Player ID gives Playrix Support the information it may need to help recover the progress.
