Gardenscapes now lets players add friends directly in the game using User IDs, friend requests, and suggestions without needing Facebook.

Adding friends in Gardenscapes no longer depends on Facebook. The game now has its own in-game friend system, so players can send and accept friend requests, discover suggested players, search for a specific player by User ID, and manage their friend list directly inside Gardenscapes.

This is separate from the recent changes involving the Facebook version of the game. Players affected by that transition still need to follow the specific process for transferring Gardenscapes progress from Facebook, but Facebook is no longer required just to add another Gardenscapes player as a friend.

How the Gardenscapes Friend System Works Now

The current friend system is built directly into Gardenscapes. According to Playrix, the main controls are available through the Leaderboard, where the Friends section lets you view your friend list, accept incoming requests, and add new players.

That is a big change from the setup many longtime players remember. Instead of relying on an outside social network to connect with someone, Gardenscapes players can now find and add each other without leaving the game.

The basic path is:

  1. Open the Leaderboard.
  2. Select the Friends tab.
  3. Choose Add Friends.
  4. Use the suggested players or choose Find Friends to look for someone specific.

The exact layout can change slightly as Playrix updates the interface, but the important part is simple: the friend connection itself can now be created inside Gardenscapes.

You Can Add a Specific Player by User ID

One of the most useful parts of the system is the ability to look for a specific player instead of waiting for that person to appear in your suggestions.

Open the Friends area, select Find Friends, and enter the other player's User ID. You can then send a friend request directly to that Gardenscapes account.

This means two players who meet through a team, a community, or another conversation can simply exchange their User IDs. They do not have to add each other on Facebook first.

That matters because the User ID belongs to the Gardenscapes account itself. Facebook can still be used for certain account features and automatic friend discovery where supported, but it is no longer the only way for two players to connect.

Why the User ID Is Better Than Searching by Name

Player names are not always unique. Two or more people can use the same name, and a player can also change the name shown on the account.

The User ID is different. Playrix describes it as a unique number tied to the game account, which makes it the most reliable way to make sure you are adding the right person.

It is also useful when contacting Playrix Support, so keeping a screenshot of your User ID is a good idea even if you are not currently adding friends.

Friend Suggestions Are Built Into the Game

You do not need someone's User ID every time you want to add a friend. Gardenscapes can also suggest other players automatically.

According to Playrix, the Friends section can show up to 30 suggested players. Suggestions may include people who share mutual friends with you or players who belong to the same team.

If you want to connect with someone, select Add to send a request. If you are not interested in that suggestion, select Dismiss.

This makes it possible to build a Gardenscapes friend list naturally as you play. You can join a team, meet other active players, receive suggestions, and add people without connecting through another app first.

How to Accept or Remove a Friend

Incoming requests appear in the Friends section. If you recognize the player and want to add them, you can accept the request there.

Playrix says up to 10 incoming friend invitations can be shown at one time. That does not mean only ten people can ever send you requests; it refers to how many incoming invitations the game displays at once.

If you later want to remove someone, open that player's profile and select Delete. The entire process can be handled inside Gardenscapes.

How Many Friends Can You Have?

The in-game friend list can display up to 300 friends. Playrix notes that if someone you expect to see is missing, that player may simply fall beyond the number currently being displayed because of the limit.

Most players will probably never come close to 300, but the larger limit is useful for active players who spend a lot of time in teams, collections, cooperative events, and other social parts of the game.

Friends Are More Useful Than They Used to Be

A Gardenscapes friend list is no longer just a collection of names on a leaderboard. Newer features have made direct connections between players much more useful.

One example is the Card Collection, where being able to trade duplicate cards with other players can help when you are missing a specific card and someone else has an extra copy.

The same advantage applies whenever Gardenscapes runs activities that involve cooperation or direct interaction with other players. If you meet someone useful during an event, exchanging User IDs makes it much easier to stay connected instead of hoping the game happens to suggest that player again later.

Does Facebook Still Work With Gardenscapes Friends?

Yes, in some cases. The important point is that Facebook has not been completely removed from Gardenscapes.

Playrix currently states that if Facebook services are supported in your region, connecting your account can still allow Gardenscapes to find Facebook friends automatically.

So the change is better described this way:

You no longer need Facebook to add Gardenscapes friends.

That is not the same as saying Facebook no longer works with Gardenscapes. Facebook can still be used where supported, but adding another player no longer depends on it.

Adding a Friend and Inviting a Friend Are Not the Same Thing

Gardenscapes uses similar wording for two different features, which can make things confusing at first.

Adding a friend means connecting with someone who already has a Gardenscapes account. You can add that player through suggestions or search for the account using a User ID.

Inviting a friend means sending an invitation to someone who has not joined Gardenscapes yet.

That distinction is important because the older Gardenscapes Invite Rewards system was built around bringing new players into the game, while today's friend requests can connect two people who already play.

Playrix says the option to invite someone who has not joined Gardenscapes becomes available from Level 6. From the Friends section, select Find Friends and then Invite Friends.

Do You Need Facebook to Add Friends in Gardenscapes?

No. If another person already plays Gardenscapes, you can connect through the game's own friend system.

You can add a suggested player, accept an incoming request, or search for a specific account using its User ID. Facebook can still help find Facebook friends automatically in regions where the service is supported, but it is no longer required for the basic process of adding another Gardenscapes player.

For longtime players, that is the biggest difference. Gardenscapes now has a real friend system of its own, with friend requests, suggestions, User ID searches, and a large in-game friend list. Two players can meet in Gardenscapes, add each other in Gardenscapes, and stay connected without having to become Facebook friends first.
