Why Does Playrix Remove Events from Some Gardenscapes Players?

Why do some Gardenscapes players lose access to events? See how Playrix testing groups can affect Electric Showdown, Hit the Target, Blackberry Treasure, and other events.

For more than a year, one of our team’s accounts had an advantage that many other players did not: Blackberry Treasure. The event was not available to everyone, and it could provide substantial extra rewards, especially when multipliers were active.

For a long time, that particular account happened to be on the more favorable side of one of Playrix’s tests.

Now, however, things have changed.

This Time, the Account Ended Up on the Other Side of the Test

Recently, Playrix appears to have been running new tests that affect which events are available to different accounts. On one of our team’s accounts, Electric Showdown and Hit the Target no longer appear, even though both events could provide extra rewards during regular gameplay.

At the same time, other players continue to see different combinations of events. Some accounts still have access to the previous events, while others are getting different options, such as Frog Trail.

This suggests that Gardenscapes players are not necessarily seeing exactly the same version of the game at the same time.

Playrix Confirms That Testing Groups Exist

The key point is that different testing groups are not just something the community has speculated about.

On the official Gardenscapes support page, under the question “Why don’t I have the event or competition?”, Playrix states that one reason an event may not be available is that the player is part of a testing group.

Playrix has also provided an official explanation for why Electric Showdown and Hit the Target may be missing from some accounts, pointing to the way different players can be placed in different testing groups.

So when two players see different events, it does not necessarily mean there is a bug or something wrong with either account. They may simply be included in different tests.

Were the Events Removed Because the Account Had Blackberry Treasure for So Long?

This is where it is important to separate what we know from what we can only speculate about.

What we know is that one of our team’s accounts is now seeing a different selection of events and that Playrix uses testing groups.

What we do not know is whether Playrix specifically selected accounts that previously had Blackberry Treasure and moved them into a less favorable test to balance out an earlier advantage.

There is no official information confirming that any such system exists.

There Was an Advantage Before. Now There Isn’t.

While this particular account had Blackberry Treasure, other players had no access to the event at all. The account could earn the additional rewards it offered, while those players were playing without the same opportunity.

Now the situation has been reversed. The same account no longer has access to two useful events, while other players still have them available.

That can certainly be seen as a disadvantage. At the same time, it would be difficult to call the situation unfair without also taking into account that, for more than a year, this account benefited from a different test that other players did not have.

If accounts move between testing groups over time, that may ultimately be more balanced than having the same players remain permanently in the most favorable versions of the game.

This Does Not Mean Every Player Is Playing Under the Same Conditions

Testing groups naturally create different experiences for different players. One account may receive extra rewards from a particular event, while another may be given a different competition or an entirely different feature to test.

That is why comparing two accounts and deciding which one has the greater overall advantage is not always straightforward.

Right now, losing access to Electric Showdown and Hit the Target puts this particular account on our team at a disadvantage. What we do not yet know is whether another change or a different event will eventually take their place.

A More Balanced Way to Look at These Tests

Blackberry Treasure, Electric Showdown, and Hit the Target: Could Playrix’s testing system actually spread advantages and disadvantages more evenly than it first appears?

For more than a year, this particular account was fortunate enough to have access to Blackberry Treasure while other players did not. Now that same account is part of a test in which two useful events are no longer available.

We cannot say that Playrix deliberately made this change to “even things out” after the account’s previous advantage. There is no evidence that this is how the testing system works.

What we can say is that these tests do not appear to favor the same players all the time. And if accounts are occasionally moved between different testing groups, that is probably fairer than having permanent “lucky” and “unlucky” players.

What Remains to Be Seen

The next thing to watch is how long this test lasts on the account, whether Electric Showdown and Hit the Target return, and whether new or different events eventually appear in their place.

That should give us a clearer idea of whether this is simply a temporary test or part of a broader change in how Playrix is distributing events among different groups of players.
