Title: Gardenscapes Closed Team Join Request

Find out how Closed Team join requests work in Gardenscapes, from Required Level and Pending status to approval and what happens after you join.

Not every team in Gardenscapes allows players to join immediately. When a team is set to Closed, you cannot simply tap Join and become a member right away. You first have to send a request to join and wait for the team to make a decision.

This does not necessarily mean the team does not want new members. It simply means the team wants more control over who fills each available spot. For teams focused on finding active players, reviewing requests before accepting someone can be much more useful than allowing every eligible player to enter automatically.

What Does a Closed Team Mean in Gardenscapes?

A Closed Team is a team where new players must be approved before they can become members. This is different from an Open Team, where a player who meets the requirements can join immediately.

So Closed does not mean, "We are not accepting new players." It is closer to saying, "Send us a request, and we will decide whether to accept you."

Why Do Teams Close Their Doors to Automatic Entry?

The main reason is control over new members. In an Open Team, any player who meets the Required Level can take an available spot without anyone on the team approving that player first.

For an active team, however, an open spot can be valuable. Filling all available positions does not help much if a new member stops playing a few days later or rarely participates in team activities.

Keeping the team Closed gives the Leader and Co-Leaders more control over who joins. Instead of having every eligible player enter automatically, they can review incoming requests and decide who they want to accept.

Another reason is participation in team events. Some teams care strongly about activities where the overall result depends on contributions from multiple members. For those teams, an active player can be far more useful than someone who simply occupies a spot on the roster.

Other teams may place more importance on helping teammates, sending lives, participating in chat, or simply remaining consistently active.

That is why a Closed Team should not automatically be considered stronger, more competitive, or harder to join. In many cases, Closed is simply a way for the team to manage who becomes a member.

What Do You Need Before You Can Send a Request?

First, the team needs to have an available spot. If the team is already full, another player cannot be added.

You also need to meet the Required Level set by that particular team. This requirement determines which players are eligible to request membership.

If there is an available spot and you meet the Required Level, open the team's page and tap Join.

Stage One: You Send the Request

Because the team is Closed, tapping Join does not immediately add you to the team.

Gardenscapes displays the message:

Request sent. Awaiting approval!

At the same time, the button changes to:

Pending

This confirms that your request was successfully sent. You are not a member yet. Your request is waiting for the team to review it.

Stage Two: Your Request Appears Inside the Team

There is an important middle step that the player requesting to join does not see from their own screen.

Inside the team chat, a notification appears showing that a specific player wants to become a member. The message appears in a form such as:

[Player name] wants to join the team.

This gives the team management an opportunity to review the request and decide whether to accept or reject it.

While no decision has been made, the player waiting outside the team continues to see the Pending status.

Stage Three: The Team Accepts Your Request

If the request is approved, the player officially becomes a member of the team.

Gardenscapes records the approval in the team chat with a message such as:

[Player] was accepted onto the Team by [Leader or Co-Leader].

At this point, the joining process is complete. The player is no longer waiting for approval and has been added to the team's member list.

For teams that care about long-term participation, keeping players active after they join can matter just as much as filling an empty spot in the first place.

What Might a Team Look at Before Accepting You?

Gardenscapes does not set specific rules that teams have to follow when deciding whether to approve a join request. That decision belongs to the people managing the team.

One team may simply need another active player and approve the request quickly. Another team may be more selective and take a closer look at your player profile before making a decision.

In that situation, information such as your Current Streak, First Try Wins, progress in Collections, completed Expeditions, and other achievements shown on your profile can help give the team an idea of what kind of player you are.

There is no official number of wins, achievements, or completed events that guarantees acceptance. Every team is free to use its own standards.

Getting Accepted Does Not Mean You Will Stay

There is one more important point to keep in mind. Getting your request approved does not guarantee you a permanent place on the team.

Once you are in, whether you stay there is largely up to you.

If the team is active and expects members to participate in team events, help other players, or maintain a certain level of activity, you will need to keep up with those expectations.

The same applies if a strong player profile helped convince the team to accept your request. If your achievements created certain expectations, your actual activity after joining will need to live up to the impression your profile gave them.

Getting through the door does not mean the team has to keep you there. If you become inactive or fail to contribute in the way the team expects, you may be removed fairly quickly and the spot may be given to another player.

What If You Cannot Send a Request?

If you find a Closed Team but cannot submit a request, first check the number of members and the team's Required Level.

If there is no available spot or your level is below the team's requirement, you do not currently meet the conditions needed to request membership.

So being Closed is not, by itself, what prevents you from joining. If you meet the requirements, the Closed setting simply means that instead of entering automatically, you have to ask for approval first.

How Does a Closed Team Join Request Work?

The process has three clear stages. You find a Closed Team with an available spot and make sure you meet its Required Level. You tap Join, and Gardenscapes displays Request sent. Awaiting approval! along with the Pending status.

Your request then appears inside the team, where the Leader or a Co-Leader can decide whether to approve it. Keeping control over new members can also help teams reduce problems caused by players who constantly join and leave, especially when only a few roster spots are available.

If the team accepts the request, a confirmation message appears in the team chat and you become a member.

A Closed Team, then, has not necessarily shut the door on new players. It simply wants to decide who gets through that door. Once you are accepted, the next part is up to you: showing the team that giving you that spot was the right decision.
