Wondering what “Collect 80 Points!” means in Gardening Duties? The pumpkin represents Spooky Pass points, earned by winning levels without buying the Pass.
A task in Gardening Duties shows a small orange pumpkin next to the instruction “Collect 80 Points!” What points is it asking for, and how do you earn them? The answer is Spooky Pass, the Halloween Season Pass in Gardenscapes.
A few players on our team asked about the pumpkin in Gardening Duties, and they’re probably not the only ones wondering. Others may never need to figure it out: as they keep winning levels, the points add up and the task gets completed through their usual gameplay.
The Pumpkin Represents Spooky Pass Points
The pumpkin isn’t an item you need to find and collect on the board. It’s the seasonal icon for Spooky Pass progress points. Gardening Duties uses that same symbol to ask you to earn those points.
The confusion comes from the task simply saying “Collect 80 Points!” beside the pumpkin, without mentioning the Pass by name. If you haven’t noticed the matching icon on the Spooky Pass screen, the connection isn’t immediately obvious.
What Our Gameplay Shows
In our Gardening Duties screenshot, the pumpkin task in Stage 3 asks for 80 points. The task is already complete, and the “Claim” button is available. The reward is 150 garden shears toward Gardening Duties progress.
In the second screenshot, from Spooky Pass, the same pumpkin appears in the progress bar at the top. The counter shows 4/30, with milestone 23 up next. The matching icon shows the connection between Pass points and the Gardening Duties task.
The two counters track different goals. “Collect 80 Points!” is the requirement for this particular Gardening Duties task. “4/30” shows your progress toward the next Spooky Pass milestone. The Pass bar doesn’t need to show 80 for the task to be complete.
How Do You Earn Pumpkin Points?
Keep playing and winning levels. The points you earn for the active Spooky Pass also count toward the matching Gardening Duties task.
You don’t need to hunt for pumpkins on the board, use a specific power-up, or complete a separate Halloween level. The task is about earning points, not collecting an element during levels.
Also, 80 points doesn’t automatically mean 80 wins. Check the task’s own counter to see how many points you still need. The numbers shown here come from our gameplay; because event details can vary between players, your own task screen is the one to follow.
Do You Need to Activate the Paid Pass?
You don’t need to buy the Pass to earn progress points. Earning points through levels and unlocking paid rewards are two different things.
Our gameplay shows this, too: the Spooky Pass screen still has the “Activate” button, and the rewards in the lower row remain locked. Even so, we’ve made progress in the Pass and completed the 80-point Gardening Duties task.
Why Might You Finish the Task Without Noticing?
The same activity moves you forward in two different reward systems. Winning levels earns points for Spooky Pass, and those same points count toward the Gardening Duties task.
That’s why you might return to Gardening Duties and find “Claim” already available, even if you never figured out what the pumpkin meant. That doesn’t mean the task completes itself without you playing. It means you don’t need to do anything extra beyond your usual gameplay.
If you’re deciding whether to keep playing to finish the task, check how many points are left on its counter. There’s no separate pumpkin hunt to plan for—just Pass points to earn.
Once you reach the target, open Gardening Duties and tap “Claim” to collect the garden shears from the task.
Conclusion
The Halloween pumpkin in Gardening Duties represents Spooky Pass points. Keep winning levels while the task is active, watch its counter, and collect your reward when “Claim” appears. You don’t need to buy the Pass or find a hidden pumpkin on the board.
That’s one Halloween mystery solved. The pumpkin was just keeping score—the next tricky level may be less cooperative.
