Learn whether you can skip a Gardenscapes level, how Mini-games differ, and what happens in Challenge and One-Shot Levels after a failed attempt.
Many players wonder whether there is a way to skip a Gardenscapes level, especially after getting stuck on the same stage for multiple attempts. The short answer is no: regular match-3 levels do not have an official Skip option. However, two different types of gameplay—Mini-games and Challenge/One-Shot Levels—often cause confusion.
Can You Skip a Regular Gardenscapes Level?
No. Normal, Hard, and Super Hard match-3 levels must be completed before you can keep progressing through the game. The Skip option players may encounter during the early Gardenscapes levels applies to Mini-games, not regular match-3 stages.
If you fail a Normal, Hard, or Super Hard level, you can simply try again. Depending on the level and your available resources, you may also be able to use boosters, tools, or extra moves. None of those options, however, actually lets you skip the level.
Mini-games Can Be Skipped
This is where Gardenscapes does offer an actual Skip option. When a Mini-game appears, you can choose to play it or skip it. If you select Skip, the game moves on and you continue with a regular match-3 level instead.
This is probably one of the main reasons players get confused about “skipping a level.” The button really does exist, but it applies to a different type of gameplay. That option is not available on Normal, Hard, or Super Hard levels.
What Happens in Challenge and One-Shot Levels?
Challenge Levels work differently from regular stages because they give players a limited number of attempts. If you do not complete the challenge within those attempts, you lose the special reward and continue progressing through the game.
In newer versions of Gardenscapes, players can also encounter One-Shot Levels. The idea is even simpler: you get one chance to beat the special level and earn its extra reward. If you fail, you do not stay stuck on that level until you beat it the way you would with a regular match-3 stage.
That can feel like a skip because the game lets you move on after the failed attempt. But there is no button that lets you bypass the level. It is simply a different type of stage with its own rules for attempts, failure, and rewards.
Are There Any Tricks for Skipping a Difficult Level?
Over the years, various unofficial “tricks” have circulated online, including closing the app at a specific moment or using other methods that supposedly affect level progression. These are not official Gardenscapes features, and none of them is a reliable way to skip a level.
A trick that someone says worked in an older version of the game may no longer work today. It may also behave differently depending on the account, device, or current version of Gardenscapes.
What Can You Do When You Are Really Stuck?
Since regular levels cannot be skipped, the most practical solution is to change the way you approach the board. On Hard and Super Hard levels, it is especially important to identify which part of the board is holding you back and which area you need to open first, rather than spending moves or boosters without a clear goal.
Playrix also recommends checking the level goals before you start, planning your opening moves, creating stronger power-ups, and making matches near the bottom of the board when doing so can trigger more cascades.
So, What Is the Actual Rule?
- Normal Level: there is no official Skip option.
- Hard Level: there is no official Skip option.
- Super Hard Level: there is no official Skip option.
- Mini-game: you can officially skip it using the Skip option.
- Challenge/One-Shot Level: if you run out of attempts, you lose the special reward and continue progressing.
So, if you are searching for “gardenscapes how to skip a level” because you are stuck on a regular stage, there is no official way to bypass it. The Skip option in Gardenscapes applies to Mini-games, while Challenge and One-Shot Levels follow different rules and do not block your main progression in the same way.
