Playrix Support confirmed that Electric Showdown has been discontinued in Gardenscapes. Here is what the removal means for active players and future rewards.
Electric Showdown is officially gone from Gardenscapes. On September 14, 2026, Playrix Support directly confirmed that the event has been discontinued and is no longer available in the game.
The change was also confirmed on two different Gardenscapes accounts that were checked. The Electric Showdown event did not appear on either account. At first, that could have been explained by different event schedules across accounts, but Playrix's response now makes it clear what actually happened.
Playrix Confirms Electric Showdown Has Been Discontinued
The confirmation came after Playrix Support was contacted about the absence of Electric Showdown and Hit the Target while the 50 new weekly levels were being completed.
Playrix's response about Electric Showdown was clear:
Playrix Support: “As for Electric Showdown, the event has been discontinued and is no longer available in Gardenscapes, as our team is focusing on developing new events for all players.”
That wording leaves little room for interpretation. Playrix did not describe this as a temporary absence, a technical problem, or a test involving a limited number of accounts. The company specifically used the word discontinued, confirming that Electric Showdown has ended.
The Change Was Also Confirmed on Two Accounts
Before the official response arrived, the event had already been missing from two different Gardenscapes accounts.
An event being absent from two accounts is not enough on its own to prove that it has been discontinued. Playrix frequently changes event schedules, and different accounts do not always receive the same content at the same time.
Once Playrix Support confirmed that Electric Showdown had been discontinued, however, its absence from both accounts took on a different meaning. This was no longer simply a case of different event schedules.
What Players Lose With Electric Showdown
The impact of this change goes beyond the disappearance of another event from the game screen. Electric Showdown ran alongside regular gameplay and gave players an extra reason to keep clearing levels.
Players could continue progressing through regular match-3 levels while competing at the same time, without having to step away from their normal progression.
That matters most to players who complete a large number of levels in a short period of time. Clearing level after level can require boosters, tools, and coins. Parallel events do not cover all of those costs, but they provide extra rewards that can help offset some of the resources being spent.
With Electric Showdown gone, that opportunity disappears with it. Players still use the same resources to complete levels, but they now have one fewer way to earn something back along the way.
One of the biggest benefits of Electric Showdown was the one hour of unlimited lives available during the event. For players who did not want to keep spending coins or boosters, that had real value. They could make repeated attempts at a difficult level without worrying about running out of lives. Even when a level took many tries, there was time to keep going until the right approach worked. Removing Electric Showdown therefore takes away more than another source of rewards. It also removes a useful way for players to keep progressing without turning to coins and boosters as quickly.
The Change Matters Most to Highly Active Players
For a casual player, losing a relatively small event may not seem especially important. The picture changes, however, for someone who completes a large number of levels every week.
At the highest available level, for example, each weekly release can mean dozens of new levels that have to be completed before the account reaches the end of the available content again.
In that situation, every event that runs alongside regular levels becomes more valuable. It is not just about the final prize. It is also about making progress in more than one part of the game while clearing the same levels.
Without Electric Showdown, that process becomes less rewarding. There is one fewer goal to chase, one fewer reward opportunity, and one fewer reason to keep playing for long stretches after the main objectives in other events have already been completed.
Fewer Rewards, but the Same Cost of Playing Levels
This may be the most important part of the change. Level difficulty and the need to use resources do not decrease simply because an event has been removed.
Coins are still spent, tools are still needed in difficult situations, and boosters remain an important part of completing many levels quickly.
When fewer events run alongside normal level progression, there are also fewer opportunities to recover some of those resources through rewards. This fits a broader pattern in the way rewards have changed in Gardenscapes, as more parts of the game compete for the same coins, boosters, and player activity.
This does not mean Gardenscapes suddenly becomes impossible without Electric Showdown. It does mean that the balance shifts a little further between what an active player spends and what that player can earn back.
It Could Also Affect Progress in Other Reward Systems
Rewards in Gardenscapes do not exist in isolation. Coins, boosters, unlimited lives, and other prizes can help players continue through other events or complete more levels.
When a recurring source of rewards disappears, the effects may show up later as well. With fewer resources available, players may need to be more selective about when they use boosters or spend coins.
That becomes even more important when Collections, passes, and other events that require steady activity are running at the same time. Losing a small amount of rewards may not seem significant over a single day, but the difference can become noticeable over several weeks.
The Official Playrix Website Already Reflects the Change
There is also an interesting detail in the official Gardenscapes Help Center.
In the main Events and Competitions section, Electric Showdown no longer appears among the events listed by Playrix.
At the same time, the old standalone Electric Showdown help page is still available and continues to explain how the event worked.
That creates a temporary inconsistency in the official information. On the one hand, Playrix Support has clearly stated that the event has been discontinued, and Electric Showdown is no longer listed in the main events section. On the other hand, its old help page is still online.
The most likely explanation is that Playrix is still updating the Help Center following the event's discontinuation.
What the Discontinuation Ultimately Means
Electric Showdown was not the biggest event in Gardenscapes, and its removal does not change the entire game. It is, however, another change in the way rewards are distributed to active players.
The main question is no longer whether Electric Showdown will return next week. Based on Playrix's official response, this is not a temporary pause.
The situation looked very different when the event was missing from some accounts but still available to others. At that point, account-specific testing was a reasonable explanation. Playrix's latest response changes that completely by confirming that Electric Showdown itself has now been discontinued.
The real question is what will replace it. Playrix says its team is focusing on developing new events. If something new appears with a similar schedule and comparable rewards, it could fill much of the gap left by Electric Showdown.
If no meaningful replacement arrives, however, the end of Electric Showdown will simply leave regular players with one fewer source of rewards.
Conclusion
As of September 14, 2026, the situation is clear. Electric Showdown was missing from two different accounts that were checked and, more importantly, Playrix Support directly confirmed that the event has been discontinued and is no longer available in Gardenscapes.
Its removal takes away another source of rewards that players could earn while completing regular levels. For highly active players who use a lot of boosters, tools, and coins, that shifts the balance a little further toward spending resources and away from earning some of them back.
What remains to be seen is whether the new events mentioned by Playrix will genuinely replace what Electric Showdown offered or whether its removal will simply become a permanent reduction in the rewards available to active players.
