In Gardenscapes, there are “weapons” and power-ups that appear either inside the board through matches or outside on the right side of the screen. The most common beginner mistake is using them without a clear goal. In this guide, you’ll learn what each one does and when it’s worth using.
What “weapons” mean in Gardenscapes
By “weapons,” we mean all tools that help you clear tiles, obstacles, and objectives. Some are created inside the board through matches, while others are available outside (on the right side) for direct use.
Weapons available inside the board
How it’s created: Match 4 identical pieces in a straight line.
What it does: Explodes and removes the tiles it touches next to it.
Role: Precise clearing and breaking obstacles close to a target.
How it’s created: Match 5 in a T or L shape.
What it does: Explodes in a two-tile radius around itself.
Role: Clears dense obstacles and is stronger than Firecracker.
How it’s created: Match 6 identical pieces in a straight line.
What it does: Explodes in a three-tile radius around itself.
Role: Mass clearing, critical in hard levels, stronger than Bomb.
How it’s created: Match 7 or more pieces.
What it does: Explodes in a four-tile radius around itself, stronger than Dynamite.
Role: Clears large areas and multiple layers of obstacles.
How it’s created: Match 5 in a straight line.
How it works:
- It does not explode on its own.
- When you place it next to a colored tile, it removes all tiles of that color from the board.
- If two Rainbow Blasts are next to each other and you move one onto the other, the whole board is cleared once.
- If you have cleared 10 levels in a row, two Rainbow Blasts together clear the whole board twice.
- If you tap on it, it clears random tiles of the same color.
Role: Strategic board control and combos.
Weapons available outside and to the right of the board
3 rules to avoid wasting weapons
- Think about the level goal first, then activate a weapon.
- Use weapons to open space, not for “show.”
- If you have few moves left, target the hardest obstacles.
Conclusion
Weapons and power-ups in Gardenscapes are the foundation of progress. When you know exactly what each one does and when it’s worth using, you’ll clear levels more easily with less waste of lives and coins. This guide is ideal for beginners who want to play with a plan.
